Maple Apple Rings
3 large apples, peeled, cored, cut 1/4" thick into rings
3/4 cup flour
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup buttermilk
Oil for deep-frying
Powdered sugar
Combine the egg, flour, syrup and buttermilk and mix well. Heat oil to 375ยบ. Dip apple rings in the batter and fry 3 or 4 at a time until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar. 2 to 4 servings.
