Walnut Molasses Pie

3 eggs

3/4 cup light corn syrup

2/3 cup sugar

1/3 cup butter, melted

1/4 cup molasses

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1 9” unbaked pie shell

Beat eggs well. Add everything but the nuts and mix thoroughly. Fold in the nuts and pour into the piecrust. Cover the edges of the crust with foil and bake at 350º for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake 15 to 20 minutes longer or until the center is set and the crust is golden brown.

A real old fashioned Southern treat! Slather on some whipped cream or a big dollop of homemade ice cream, and son, it don’t get no better than this! All of this and Bluegrass music too, Heaven right here on Earth!
