Welcome to summer! -- Today is the longest day of the year, when the sun won’t set until around 8:35 p.m. or so. This is not good news to those who are down for the count and in need of shuteye after spending many wonderful yet sleepless nights at the 35th Annual CBA Father’s Day Festival this past week and weekend. It was indeed a grand time, and endless thanks go out to the CBA board and all of the volunteers that made the fest such a success. If you could not make it, there will be many more photos to come soon. For now, get started with these shots by Michael Sharps.

No rest for the weary -- Don’t think that all of the fun for the summer is now over. This weekend there is the Susanville Bluegrass Festival and the Kate Wolf Festival in Laytonville to look forward to.

If you play acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, dobro, or bass and want to play bluegrass, go on by. The jam is hosted by David Zimmerman of Homespun Rowdy, and the band will be playing there at 8:30 after the jam.
