No Lillys -- The long awaited West Coast tour of the Lilly Mountaineers, with Everett Lilly on mandolin – despite what it said in the Pink Section of the SF Chronicle on Sunday – has been canceled due to an illness in the band. They were supposed to play at Amnesia in SF tonight and at Don Quixote’s in Felton tomorrow. In their place at Amnesia members of Homespun Rowdy, 49 Special and the AJ Roach Band will come together for a special John Hartford Tribute. Dan Booth, Alisa Rose, Jim Chayka, Adam Roszkiewicz, and Dave Zimmerman will be performing the entire Steam Powered Aeroplane recording from start to finish.

Hardly Strictly in the morning fishwrap -- There is a story in today’s SF Chronicle about the free upcoming Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival that will take place in Golden Gate Park on October 3rd-5th. Before you start complaining about all of the non-bluegrass bands on the bill please bear in mind that it is a free event, the word “Hardly” is in the title, and it is not mandatory that you attend.
