Sonoma County Bluegrass Festival

The Sonoma County Bluegrass and Folk Festival will be held Saturday, March 14 from 1 to 9 PM. It’s hard to believe that this is the ninth year for this event and our third year at the Sebastopol Com- munity Center. Performers include Laurie Lewis & Tom Rozum, the Kapalakiko Hawaiian Band, Earl Bothers, Ray Bierle, Rosebud Blue and the Michael Stadler Mary Gibbons Band. As usual attendees are encouraged to bring their instruments as there will be jamming. This year’s workshops will include one on vocals by Laurie Lewis & Tom Rozum and a demonstration and discussion of traditional Hawaiian Music hosted by the members of the Kapalakiko Hawaiian Band. Tickets will be available February 1, 2009 at the Last Record Store, Santa Rosa, Peoples Music, Sebastopol and Backdoor Disc in Cotati, and on line at www.cba- ontheweb.org. General admission is $27 in advance, $32 at the door. For current members of the California Bluegrass Association and the Sonoma County Folk Society admission will be $25 in advance, and $30 at the door.
