Playing primarliy traditional bluegrass music and adding in something a little different now and then - but always done with a tasty bluegrass sound and feel to it!

One Lane Ahead is a relatively new band, although the individuals in the group have all been playing bluegrass music for a very long time.

John Kornhauser plays a solid rhythm guitar and sings lead on many of the vocals - John won Best Male Vocalist of Northern California in 2012 and has one of the most distinctive and authentic bluegrass voices on the West Coast. John also plays in another great bluegrass band, Dark Hollow, that he founded more than 20 years ago.

Jimmy Touzel is one of the best bass players on the West Coast - he regularly plays with multiple bands, including The Earl Brothers. Jimmy also sings lead and adds in great harmonies on many of the band's vocal numbers.

Dave Berry contributes with his mandolin and great singing voice - you can also hear Dave when he performs with his duet, Mountain Dojo. Dave is also a songwriter - and the band performs some his original material.

Mark Kronar is one of the most creative fiddle players in California - Mark played with the original Dark Hollow band during its first 10 years and then traveled to China for a few years. Now back in California, Mark is solidly back in the bluegrass scene - you'll be amazed at some of the fiddle breaks that Mark manufacturers out of thin air - almost like magic! Which makes sense, since Mark also happens to be a performing magician ... :)

Steve Rosen is a solid Scruggs-style banjo player, although he would probably be better described as a Hickman-style banjo player since he studied with John Hickman when he first got started with the banjo back in the 1970s. Steve got this band started when he hooked up with Mark Kronar in early 2013.
